Who We Are

Owned by the Italian Frandino Group and originally founded in the 1950s as a fruit distillery, Sedamyl has grown to become one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of wheat derivatives such as starches, sweeteners, proteins and alcohol for major food and industrial sectors worldwide. In 2012 the group expanded its international presence by opening a plant in Selby, UK.

 What We Do

Sedamyl UK, uses Yorkshire-grown wheat in its production, which is purchased from a network in excess of 1,000 local farmers, so providing a valuable and sustained revenue stream. The announcement in 2021 to invest a further £80m in expanding both its distilling and liquid sweetener production, significantly boosts an already growing workforce to around 150 employees, creating in excess of 75 new jobs for the area.

 What we are looking for

We are looking to appoint a HSEQ Administrator who will be responsible for all aspects of HSEQ administration across our growing Selby site. As a HSEQ Administrator you will provide support and assistance to the HSEQ and Production departments ensuring the day-to-day management systems run proactively and efficiently across the business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and maintaining the quality objectives, internal audit planning and management
  • Monitoring and maintaining QMS (QPulse) system
  • Assisting in the development of new processes, updating existing processes, analysing, collating, and reporting KPI data
  • Assist in maintaining records of HSEQ documentation
  • Perform inductions of new employees in relation to Quality, Health & Safety and environment as requested
  • Participate in HSEQ meetings, prepare minutes, and distribute to relevant parties
  • Carry out basic visual assessments on work equipment
  • Ensuring scheduled audits and inspections are conducted and corrective actions are completed efficiently
  • Assisting with document reviews and effectively delivery and communication of revised documents to all relevant parties
  • Ensuring compliance documents are scanned and filed accurately
  • Creating detailed reports and distributing to relevant parties
  • Providing assistance during external audits
  • Undertake any other task as reasonably requested

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent organisational skills, sufficient to plan own workload and time to ensure deadlines are met
  • Ability to create clear and through reports, procedures, and guidance documents
  • Experience in working within HSEQ sector advantageous
  • Clear understanding of the importance of HSEQ compliance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Desire to gain knowledge
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Software
