What we are looking for
We are seeking a Laboratory Quality Technician to join our growing team, to assist in all aspects of quality assurance testing and development in relation to the manufacturing of our products. You will be responsible for ensuring daily retrieval of samples from production, logistics and effluent areas, conducting analytical tests on raw materials, finished goods and effluent waste, calibration of test equipment and general housekeeping of laboratory.
Responsibilities
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
· Retrieval of samples of raw material and finished products
· Perform analysis on products according to defined analytical methods and standard operating procedures
· Conducting of analytic tests
· Prepare and standardise solutions needed to conduct tests
· Prepare and calibrate laboratory equipment
· Accurately record all results and data for analysis and compliance with ISO and company requirements
· Report out of specification results to appropriate department to take remedial action and re-analyse
· Prepare and dispatch samples to customers or external labs
· Practice a clean as you go policy to maintain laboratory hygiene
· Perform other duties as reasonable requested
Skills & Knowledge
· Previous experience working in a laboratory (preferred)
· GCSE level in Chemistry
· Ability and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks and work without continuous supervision
· Strong organisational, problem solving and analytical skill
· Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a high attention to detail
· Ability to calculate figures encompassing proportions, percentages, ratios, and volume
· Strong organisational, problem solving and analytical skills
· Aptitude to learn how to perform a wide range of technical skills including sample preparation for analysis and techniques such as HPLC and GC
· Ability to work accurately and follow specific instructions in a complex work environment
· Be proactive and self-motivated with good communication skills
· Good IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft software
· Ability to work as part of a team or independently, whilst strictly following all health & safety requirements
